After 2 years of talking about a move to Texas, we did it!
I moved here on June 12, 2008. Escrow papers were signed on 6/13...yes, FRIDAY June 13. I'm not a superstitious person but I was pretty convinced that something would go wrong. Turns out, everything went smooth and we were able to close that day. David made the trek back to California to pack our household up and made the drive out here the very next week.
Its been a crazy, hectic summer but it finally seems like everything is fitting into place. Lindsay spent 5 weeks out here. She had a great time with Nicholas, her Dad, and family. She was able to do a gymnastics camp twice a week while she was here. That girl can do some somersaults and round offs! Its pretty amazing. She went back to California at the end of July and we miss her tremendously.
Nicholas is doing well and is enjoying the Texas life. His best friend, Chance from California just left this past Monday after a 2 week visit. Nicholas had his 1st soccer practice today. He plays for the Eagles and will have his 1st game at the start of September. Nicholas is set to start the 8th grade at Fossil Hill Middle School on Monday 8/25. Nicholas is a great big brother. His little brothers adore him and have become super close to him since he moved in with us in April.
Sean...lets see. He turned 3 on 7/25. His vocabulary has expanded significantly since he has spent so much time with Nicholas. He can name all the Batman characters :D Sean will be starting Preschool on Monday 8/25. He will be going 3 times a week. My little guy is growing up so fast!
My baby Jack turned 1 on 8/12. Hes a feisty one! He starting walking a few days before he turned one. My little devil is now on the loose. Mommy & Daddy are in trouble now! He'll be attending the same preschool as Sean, one day a week. That gives Mommy & Daddy a kid-free day. Yay!
David has been super busy. hes been obsessing over the grass and tree. I have to say, I'm very impressed. Hes kept the lawn super green despite the heat. One of our trees on the side yard was looking like Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree when we moved in but he brought it back to life! We repainted the master bedroom. It was a pretty faux finished brown but it felt like we were living in a cave! We took a risk and painted it with Valspar's "lime kiss." I love it. Its so bright & cheery. We're now in the process of repainting the downstairs guest bath. You'll have to wait to see the pictures. : )
I feel like I've been super busy but I can pinpoint exactly what I've been doing except for working. Its so nice being able to work from home. I'm able to watch my boys grow & progress before my very own eyes. I love that I am able to attend their appointments and activities now. Its like a dream come true. I do miss Rocco beyond words. I'm hoping to head back to California for a visit really soon.
We love, love, love our new house. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that we would be living in a nice community in a 5 bedroom, 4 bath house. Its like a dream come true. Moving to Texas has been the best decisions that David & I have made in a long time.
Sorry about the long update post but I wanted to start of by giving an update and a great big
YEE HAW!
